Why Spoken English Matters

Oral communication is the foundation of all language learning — and the skill most Kenyan children need to build confidence early.

🏫

School Success

Children who speak confidently in English participate more actively in class, ask better questions, and perform stronger across all subjects.

🧠

Brain Development

Learning spoken English early strengthens memory, listening skills, and cognitive flexibility — benefits that last a lifetime.

💼

Future-Proof Skills

English is Kenya's language of business, higher education and global opportunity. Starting early gives children a powerful head start.

😊

Self-Confidence

A child who can express themselves clearly in English carries that confidence into every room — school, church, family, and beyond.

🎯

CBC Alignment

Kenya's CBC curriculum explicitly prioritises oral communication skills. Our programme directly supports the Language Activities learning area.

🎮

Learning Through Play

Children learn best when they're having fun. Every lesson uses songs, games, stories, and role-play to make English stick naturally.

Frequently Asked Questions

We accept children from age 4 upwards. Our Starter band (Ages 4–6) is specifically designed for very young learners using songs, movement and picture-based activities. There is no minimum English level required — we meet every child exactly where they are.
Both options are available. Online sessions are held via Zoom or Google Meet with a live tutor — ideal for any location across Kenya. In-person sessions are available at our Nairobi learning centres. The interactive element works equally well in both formats.
Session lengths are age-appropriate: 30 minutes for Ages 4–6, 45 minutes for Ages 7–9, and 60 minutes for Ages 10–12. We recommend 2–3 sessions per week for the best results, though even weekly sessions show clear improvement over a term.
Never. Each child begins with a short baseline assessment that places them within the right module — even within an age band. Advanced children move faster and are given richer extension activities. We never hold a child back or let them coast on what they already know.
Every session is activity-based — songs, finger-games, picture cards, storytelling, role-play and age-appropriate competitions. Our tutors are trained in child-centred pedagogy and know how to keep a 5-year-old engaged for a full 30 minutes. We also use a star reward system that children genuinely love.
Yes — and we make it very visible. Every session ends with a brief parent note from the tutor. Fluent and Champion plan families receive a weekly report showing vocabulary covered, confidence observations, and what to practise at home. At the end of each module, children perform a short spoken piece as a showcase of their progress.
