Frequently Asked Questions

Grade 4–6 is called Upper Primary in Kenya's CBC. The focus shifts from integrated thematic learning (used in Grades 1–3) to structured, subject-specific teaching. Learners are assessed through projects, portfolios, and written tests rather than just observation.
Core subjects include English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies, Computer Science, Creative Arts & Sports, Agriculture & Nutrition, and Religious Education (CRE, IRE or HRE). We cover all of these at Ameisen Academy.
Yes! We accept new enrolments throughout the year. Our tutors will conduct a brief baseline assessment to understand where your child is and design a personalised learning plan to catch up or extend their current level.
Both options are available. Online sessions are conducted via Zoom or Google Meet, with digital whiteboards and interactive tools. In-person sessions are available at our Nairobi learning centres and selected partner locations across Kenya.
Grade 7 marks the transition into Junior Secondary School (JSS) — a significant shift in content depth and assessment style. Our Grade 6 programme explicitly prepares learners for this transition by introducing Grade 7 concepts in the final term.
We offer both. 1-on-1 sessions provide maximum personalisation, while small group sessions (3–5 learners) are a cost-effective option that also builds collaborative learning skills. Group sessions are available on the Scholar and Excellence plans.
